An Overview of JustFab Beauty Company

Don Ressler is an established entrepreneur famously known to be responsible for the success of many startups. Don started his first startup company called FitnessHeaven.com which was later sold to Intermix Media in 2001. Ressler later formed Alena Media in collaboration with the then 19-year-old Adam Goldenberg the COO of Intermix. The primary source of profit for Intermix Media at that time was the Ecommerce and Performance advertising department. Adam Goldenberg and Don Ressler later moved and ventured into new avenues after News Corp acquired Intermix in the year 2005.

Then, Adam Goldenberg and Don Ressler created DERMSTORE, an institution that was focused on the establishment of a brand that targets consumers directly. Sensa was formed two years later, and Dr. Alan Hirsch was brought in to be in charge of the product development sector. Brett Brewer, the founder of Intermix, was hired as the Chief Executive Officer of the business organization. A third company was launched in 2010 that was named JustFab, which a fashion e-commerce retailer. Matrix Partners in 2011 funded JustFab 33 million US Dollars. In September 2011, Kimora Lee Simmons joined JustFab as the President and Creative Director. The company then raised the second round of funding after it had expanded its membership to six million. The second funding was reported to amount to 76 million US Dollars. The second funding was sourced from Crossover Ventures, Matrix Partners, Rho Ventures, and Intelligent Beauty, which was the parent company.

JustFab opted to expand its market after acquiring the first two funding. The company purchased children’s fashion subscription service on January 18th, 2013. JustFab acquired an e-commerce site named The Fab Shoes on May 23rd, 2013. The acquisition of The Fab Shoes earned the company more members amounting to 500, 000 from France and Spain. The new members added to the 1.5 million European membership that had been established in Germany and the United Kingdom.

JustFab later launched Fabletics on October 1st, 2013 after completing a 40 million US Dollar Series C funding round. Fabletics is an athletic wear company that was founded in partnership with Kate Hudson. The company on  leverages their e-commerce business model to offer athletic wear that is technically precise and fashion forward. Kate Hudson’s enormous influence as an athlete also enabled the company’s marketing strategy to work out well. Fabletics has made fitness fashionable that it is now being integrated into the daily life. JustFab has ended up being featured in the leading media houses such as MTV and the Style Channel and also in the main magazines such as Glamour and the People Magazine.
